If I was going to Coachella…my top ten:

Holy mother of God. I am looking at the Coachella line up for this weekend and can’t believe it. There are so so many bands performing it kind of blows my mind.  It’s like they took the ultimate playlist form the past couple years and threw it into a giant three day mash-up of live music.

It is really hard for me to pick my top ten. I mean it is really hard. So here is a bunch of top tens:

Top Bands I would go out of my way to see:
1. The Chemical Brothers (Saw them at Coachella in 2005.  They are just so good live!) p.s., all of their videos are soooo sick. Take some time to watch a few:

2. Sleigh Bells (Because I rocked out to this the whole past year)
http://www.myspace.com/sleighbellsmusic

3. A-Track (Ummm, cause you know that he’s going to kill it!!!!!!!)

4. Green Velvet (Because they have made me shake and pop for over a decade)

5. Cut Copy (Because I have some really good memories to this music and i kind of like their new album)

6. Arcaid Fire (I know they’ve played Coachella a bunch but I’ve never seen them play. Another band that I have some great memories to)

7. Tame Impala (because it would be nice to smoke a lil and kick back in the sun)

8. Crystal Castles (Because I want to see Alice dance around and Ethan makes some sick beats.

9. Duck Sauces (Because of the song ‘Anyway’ Come on. Arman Van Heldon and A-Track. You know its going to be good)

10. Mumford & Sons (because it reminds me of my lover)

Top 10 Dance and remixers:

3. Trentemoller
4. YACHT
5. Rye Rye
6. Css

So, if I was going to Coachella I would be a happy girl,
but I’m not. Poop!

The Hours-See the Light Calvin Harris remix, Radio show playlist (Archived from my website)

Wow! In the past couple of weeks I have acquired so much music I don’t even know where to begin. Here’s a list of stuff I’ve been playing in my car:
Passion Pit-wallpaper remix
Rye Rye feat. M.I.A-Bang
Cobra Krames-Choose You
The Gossip-Heavy Cross
The Pragmatics-Cirlcles (Harley School remix)
Golden Silvers
Empire of The Sun
The Rapture-Pieces of People We Love (oldies but goody)
Animal Collective
The Golden Filter
Buraka Som Sistema

But my ‘Jam of the Week’ is a song I got about a month ago and every time I play it in the club or hear it I can’t help but jump around. The Calvin Harris remix of ‘See The Light’ by The Hours is his best yet. It has the perfect union of a disco dance beat, with a simplified chorus and happy layers of synth and piano. Then there’s this tweaked, melodic lead synth that bounces along the track which makes me dance no matter what.

‘Jam of the Week’ Radio Show May 21:
My guest last week was Baron Von Luxxury who selected some wicked tracks. I had so much fun with him that I didn’t keep track of any of the songs he played. Luckily you can find a podcast of the show on the http://www.littleradio.com archives. We talked about the tracks he picked, made fun of celebrity playlists and practiced our deep radio voices.
